I am a Geologist, currently working as a "Geographic Information Systems Analyst/ Statistician/ Programmer" in the Faculty of Medicine, Community Health and Epidemiology, at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

My nine-to-five job involves generating spatial statistics from multi- million-record health-care datasets. Funding provided by the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF), and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI). |
My current research interests include; Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Bayesian Probability (Weights of Evidence), Clinical Trials, Multi-Level Modelling, and Spatial Databases.
As a five-to-nine freelancer I provide GIS consulting/contracting services and advice to clients in fields such as; health care, marketing, engineering, and environmental site planning.
For my GIS computing needs I use a series of customized Open Source programs (GDAL, GRASS, GSTAT, MySQL) running on Linux & Cygwin. In addition, I use proprietary software; ArcGIS, Oracle, and SAS within Windows 2000, Alpha/OpenVMS, and UNIX environments.
